Nissan Catalytic Converters
The Nissan Motor Company is a Japanese automobile manufacturer founded in December of 1933. Nissan started as manufacturer for the Japanese military producing trucks, airplanes and engines. Nissan had a large influence from American auto manufacturing, using American vehicle and engine designs, and importing American machinery. Nissan expanded into the international market in the 1950s and by 1970 were among the largest automobile exporters in the world. Currently Nissan is the second largest automobile manufacturer, recently passing Honda.
Nissan is taking new steps in its environmental approach. Nissan is expanding its development, production, and marketing of 100% electric cars such as the recently released, Nissan Leaf. Apart from its work in fully electric cars, Nissan has recently started to take a new approach to hybrid technology, no longer basing its hybrid technology on Toyota’s, as of 2010. Nissan is also taking a new approach to catalytic converters as noted in this article from Reuters.com
